If you've not heard of CARB CYCLING before than rejoice! This could well be the change you are looking for to progress faster and more efficiently towards your fitness goal.
What is Carb Cycling?

Carb Cycling is a pattern of eating where you manipulate carbohydrates to encourage the body to utilize fat stores as energy, thus dropping body fat.

I believe Carb Cycling is one of a few SUSTAINABLE eating plans that assists in weight/fat loss for the everyday fitness enthusiast. This is because the pattern of eating doesn't leave you feeling hungry, lethargic or drained of energy (as most calorie restricted diets do).​

Regardless, the fact is that Carb Cycling is much more user friendly because it also negates the need to count calories, which I don't believe to be a sustainable approach to weight loss.​

So How Does It Work?

For most, the intensity of exercise for that particular day will dictate whether it will be a low, moderate or high carb day.

For example: 
Rest day - Low Carbs
Shoulders - Moderate Carbs
Leg Day - High Carbs
Rest Day - Low Carbs

So as you can start to see, depending on the intensity of your workout for the day (if any) you can adjust your Carb intake accordingly to fit your needs and your routine.

This pattern of eating is ideal for maintaining lean muscle mass as well, which if you didn't already know is the key to keeping body fat off in the long term. The more lean muscle mass - The more energy required to keep it - Energy used is in the form of calories. Makes sense right?
